How to Control Firestick Without Remote and Wi-Fi

If your remote is not working and wi-fi is also not working, all things feel stuck. This situation often happens when: you change wi-fi, the remote stops working, firestick disconnects from the internet, or dead batteries without a backup remote 

At this point, many users feel stuck and think the device is useless, but still, there are a few ways to solve the issue. Let's see step by step how to solve the issue. 

Understand the Problem First

Here, many users try to control firestick through the mobile app, but the mobile app only works when both firestick and your mobile app are connected to the same wi-fi that mean you can not control or use your mobile phone as a remote. So the solution is: you need a temporary method to at least reconnect wifi.  

Method 1: Use TV Remote (HDMI-CEC Feature)

Many modern TVs support HDMI-CEC, which lets your TV control devices connected via HDMI. So follow these steps: first, use your TV remote and navigate to the HDMI input where firestick is connected. Try using the arrow key and ok button.

Method 2: Use a Mobile Hotspot Trick

If your firestick is connected to the same wi-fi as your mobile phone, you can recreate the same network using your phone. Let's see how you can do it. First, take another phone and turn on your mobile hotspot. Make sure you set the password and name the same as previously connected wi-fi. Your firestick will automatically connect to this hotspot.  Now connect your mobile phone to the same hotspot. Open your remote app from your phone. 

The app will detect firestick and you can control it from your phone.  

Method 3: Use USB Mouse (OTG Cable Method)

An OTG cable helps you to connect a USB mouse directly to your firestick. If you have an OTG cable, follow these steps to connect the mouse. 

Connect the OTG cable to the firestick then plug in USB mouse and power on the device. You will start seeing a cursor on the screen. Now you can scroll, click, and navigate using your mouse. Use this mouse for connecting to Wi-Fi.

Method 4: Use Bluetooth Keyboard or Controller

If you are using any previous Bluetooth device, like a keyboard, then try to turn it on. Because many devices connect automatically if they are previously connected to firestick. After you turn on the Bluetooth device, try navigating firestick. If it is working, control your device and fix your wi-fi.
